The brief working of the project has been given in the abstract at the beginning of this book. This section attempts to identify all the modules of the project thereby defining the entire project in terms of its strengths and limitations.

The first module deals with the generation of menu library. It provides a menu driven interface for the users of small devices to navigate between various options. Because of the non-availability of a menu related class in J2ME (MIDP 1.0), even though they exist in the personal java, we developed simulating structure of such menu classes for our project.

The second module deals with the basic understanding of the existing browsers and their features and finding out which feature is suitable for mobiles and which is not. For example, Print and Print Preview are two such features that are available on a regular browser, which are not given for mobiles as they cannot communicate with a printer. Instead a facility to transfer the page to a PC is given which may be used for printing the page from the PC.

The third module takes care of the design of a parser with a limited subset of the existing HTML and WML tags. These identified tags are discussed in detail in the further sections of this book. Only these tags are given rendering by the parsing engine and display the output on the mobile screen. For example, <H1> through <H6> are different heading styles that appear in normal HTML for desktop browsers. All these heading styles cannot be supported on the mobile platform as it gives facility for only three different sizes and styles of the fonts. So, only three styles of headings are supported.

Normally HTML rendering engines are more forgiving in nature. This means that if a tag cannot be understood by the engine, it simply ignores it and continues with other tags of the document. The same approach is used here for rendering HTML documents on the browser for mobiles.

The fourth module involves the arrangement of the HTML parsing engine and rest of the GUI that stands for the browser in their places. And all the features like page refreshing, page caching, and traversal in the sequence of the pages visited to and fro, and other such facilities of the browser are coded here in this stage. The Connector framework of J2ME platform is also implemented here to enable the basic connection between a mobile and a web server via the WAP gateway provided by the service provider.

The fifth and the last module is about testing the browser functionality in browsing any test HTML or WML pages provided by the test engineers. Anyway, the restriction in providing these HTML or WML pages is that they should be formed only by the set of tags which are considered for rendering on the HTML parsing engine, a part of our whole software. The test file may contain any other tags that are not supported by this browser. If they exist, these extraneous tags are simply ignored.

To Automate the complete process, facilitated Individual / Groups / Organizations Registrations, Role based Privileges and reports, Online Modification of transcribed documents; Facilitating enhanced productivity at Medical Transcription organizations. Once this process is completed the doctor signs it and further it cannot be modified.

The site is having 5 main roles.

  2. Doctor
  3. Medical Transcription
  4. Quality Analyzer
  5. Formatter

The Doctor dictates patient history through voice instruments or this site provides dicta phone facility and uploads voice files through this site. The site admin allots these files to MT Organization. MT Admin will allot these files basing on MT’s efficiency on Work types. Once allotted MT’s will download their allotted voice files and corresponding word Templates. MT listen voice files and creates document and uploads through this site. MT uploaded documents are assigned to QA .QA checks these documents and gives accuracy. Finally Formatter formats the document. After completion of these documents these are sent to printing and fax to corresponding doctor and billing will also done to these documents based on billing and line rules set to that particular organization.

This project was implemented under Web Technologies using DHTML , JavaScript, and Enterprise Java.
